Macht is built with your privacy as a fundamental principle. I believe your data belongs to you and should remain under your control.
Data Collection
I do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data. It's literally not possible - there are Macht servers - all data remains on your device.
Specifically, Macht does not:
- Collect usage metrics or analytics
- Track user behavior or app usage patterns
- Use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
- Store any workout data on external servers
- Require account creation or authentication
- Transmit data to third parties
Local-First Architecture
Macht uses a local-first architecture, meaning all your data is stored exclusively on your device. This includes:
- Workout history and exercise logs
- Routine configurations and templates
- Personal records and progress tracking
- App settings and preferences
Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up or export it.
iCloud Backups
Macht offers optional iCloud backup functionality to help you preserve your data and sync across your Apple devices. When you enable this feature:
- Your workout data is backed up to your personal iCloud account
- The backup is encrypted and stored in your private iCloud storage, not on Macht servers
- I do not have access to your iCloud data
- You can disable iCloud backup at any time from the app settings
iCloud backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy and terms of service. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for more information.
Data Exports
You have full control over your data. Macht allows you to export your workout data in standard formats at any time. Exported data remains under your control and can be deleted from your device whenever you choose.
Permissions
Macht may request the following permissions to provide its functionality:
- iCloud: Optional permission for backup and sync functionality
- Local storage: Required to store your workout data on your device
All permissions are requested with clear explanations and can be revoked through your device settings.
Third-Party Services
Macht does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app operates entirely offline and does not require an internet connection to function.

Err, disclaimer time - I may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. I encourage you to review this policy periodically.
